In preparation for the Olympics starting on 27th July, Hunt’s Food Service have introduced an initiative within their call centre to motivate staff and help increase sales to their valued customers.

Each week throughout the Olympics, an Olympic deal is created of a certain product or product range. The product selection can be anything from a new product to promote or a slow-moving line.

The team who sells the most deals over the week receives a prize. The only rule is every team member has to sell at least one to qualify. Team members have been encouraging each other and there has been healthy competition between the teams. This not only increases sales, the customer receives a good service of being informed of special offers.

Suze Williams, Call Centre Manager says, “All teams have been highly motivated with this idea and have all named their teams after an Olympic hero – we have Team Bolt, Team Thorpe and Team Akabusi!”

A wallboard is being used to display the current results with a podium. Gold, silver and bronze medals are awarded to the team at the end of each deal.

To keep the momentum the company also arranged for one of the genuine Olympic torches to make a visit to the call centre. The torch had its run through Shaftesbury, Dorset beforehand.
