Here’s a great idea that one manager used to create a buzz in their contact centre.

Softcat, a contact centre in Marlow, has raised the bar when it comes to rewarding agents by inviting a caricaturist into their midst.

Paul Gurney spent the day drawing some of the team.

“I had never drawn in a call centre before and had expectations of it being just like Nev’s workplace in BBC’s ‘The Call Centre'”, said Paul Gurney, caricaturist. “What did strike me as I went through the doors was the number of employees and actually how quiet and business-like it was, not what the TV programme leads you to believe.”

“I found my first sitter very quickly and, after the first drawing, the requests started coming in thick and fast (everyone loves how I draw as I always get a great likeness). There was a lot of interest and I created a lot of joking, chatter and fun. It was a great day for us all!”
