A survey of 2,000 UK adults has revealed that up to 200 million parcels a year are arranged to be delivered to a workplace.
On average, British workers arrange two deliveries a month to their employer’s post room, but 11% of those arranging workplace deliveries said that they typically receive five or more parcels a month.
The DPD survey also found that while 28% of employers were happy with their staff arranging workplace deliveries, 10% said that their boss had explicitly outlawed the practice.

“Today, most of us have switched on to the benefits of online retailing, but while the internet allows us to shop 24/7, we can’t be at home around the clock to receive our purchases,” said Dwain McDonald, CEO of DPD. “Many online shoppers frequently arrange for their packages to be delivered to their workplace, knowing that there will be someone around to sign for their goods.”
