Employees from local contact centre Fusion took time out earlier this month to help voluntary playgroup New Ark.

The team gave the nursery’s new City Farm and Nature Garden a much needed makeover, which included moving ten tons of gravel, cleaning out animal pens, as well as fixing the playgroup’s fish pond.

Fusion has an ongoing relationship with New Ark, which has seen employees donating items from the playgroups ‘wish-list’, including Easter eggs for the children, the ten tons of gravel required for the farm and new fencing for the animal enclosures. They also printed important marketing material for the nursery to help raise local awareness.

Gemma Throup, Fusion Employee and New Ark Volunteer, said: ‘We had a great day volunteering at New Ark. It was hard work, but definitely worth the effort. Moving the ten tons of gravel was no easy job, but doing so means that even in wet weather the farm is still accessible to children. We love getting involved with our local community, so far this year we have volunteered with four charities and we have other events planned – it’s very exciting!’

Nikki Anderson, from the New Ark Playgroup, said: ‘We are thrilled with the ongoing support we receive from Fusion, the team is so dedicated. It is thanks to this support that we have been able to put the finishing touches to our City Farm and Nature Garden, making our playgroup an interactive haven for children.”
