Planning manager Brian Bastick has raised over £1,000 in aid of the National Kidney Federation.

He has worked in the contact centre industry for over 20 years, and will be completing the trek in memory of a close friend who died of kidney failure.

“I wanted to help raise funds for the organisation that helped David and his family throughout his illness and also following his death,” said Brian Bastick, Planning Manager for MDU. “They have been amazing in helping his wife following his death and I wanted to do something other than just send them a cheque.”

Ben Nevis is the highest point in the British Isles and stands at 1,343m (4,000ft) above sea level.

Brian will be embarking on the trek on Friday (13th December) and is hoping to complete it within 8 hours – weather permitting.
