Staff at Sunderland-based contact centre and marketing fulfilment specialist 2Touch are this year throwing their full support behind one of Wearside’s best-loved charities, St Benedict’s Hospice.
To assist the charity, kind-hearted staff have pledged to raise cash via a range of fundraising activities.
Lynn Kane, facilities office services manager at 2Touch, who has championed a wide range of charities at the firm, said: “This year we held a vote encouraging all staff to get behind a charity of their choice and the runaway winner was St Benedict’s Hospice. It is a local cause which is close to the hearts of many people.
“The willingness of colleagues to continually support worthy causes is outstanding. Over the years we have helped raise funds for numerous charities. Last year we raised over £6,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support and have provided support to The SAFC Foundation, Sport Relief and World Cancer Research.
“As a large organisation, it is great for us to come together through a range of fun events to support the community.”
Sylvia Stoneham, fundraiser for St Benedict’s Hospice, said: “We are delighted to have the backing of 2Touch, which employs nearly 1,000 people, and look forward to working closely with everyone in the firm to help their fundraising activities.
“As a hospice, we do all that we can to provide the best care and treatment to patients and their families by offering a place of respite that aims to be an extension of their own home.”
