Employees of Sykes from the multilingual Edinburgh contact centre have got together to produce a Multicultural Cook Book designed to raise funds for Children 1st.

Launched recently at the Sykes Xmas Fayre, the Cook Book features delicious recipes from all over the world.  The £5 Cook Book has already raised over £2,000 towards the target of £5,000.

“The ethos that created the idea was the social bond that cooking and eating together brings to all of us,” explains Sykes’s Alice Wilson, working with Catherine Rosso, and Dragon’s Glen mentor Judy Wagner, who has lent a most productive hand to the project.

As well as recipes from over 20 different nationalities representing many parts of the globe, Alice Wilson says that one of the recipes was also been sourced by an internationally renowned chef – drawing on his own favourite recipes from childhood.  And in keeping with this, each recipe is accompanied by a ‘memory’ from the author.
