A contact centre in Coventry has raised money for charity by organising a football match.

Agents at a PCMS Group contact centre put their best foot forward to help raise money for Crohn’s and Colitis. The event was inspired by an agent – Sean McLean – whose girlfriend suffers from an Inflammatory Bowel Disease.

There were 22 players in total, with the Head of the Contact Centre and a Team Leader as captains of the teams. Each player contributed £5 to the game, which was held at a local football and rugby club – kindly offered to them for free – and was 35 minutes each way with a final score of 5-5.

Their fundraising efforts continued after the match, as friends and family gathered to celebrate. A charity pot was placed on the bar and half of the proceeds from the food was donated to the cause – with over £200 being raised by the end of the day.

“It means the world to us both that everyone was so willing to help out and donate to the cause,” said Sean, on behalf of himself and his girlfriend. “I just want to say thank you to everyone – the players, spectators and the organisers – for making it a success.”
