Six employees from Fusion Contact Services in Sunderland have completed a gruelling six-hour hike of England’s highest mountain, Scafell Pike, in aid of global children’s charity Plan UK.

The six dedicated fundraisers battled against changeable weather and a steep terrain of mainly rocks and scree to successfully climb the 978m mountain in the Lake District. The six climbers raised over £800 for Plan, and through Fusion’s CSR policy, the hikers were eligible for Match Funding which took the total donation to over £1,300.

Tony Barrett said: “The hike was extremely challenging for us all due to the distance, steep inclines and changeable conditions. When we completed the climb we were all very tired but happy at what we had accomplished. As a team, Fusion Sunderland is committed to supporting worthwhile causes, both locally within our community and through Fusion’s CSR strategy.”
