Contact centre group, Sykes Global Services, is adding a new contact centre operation in Galashiels, where the company has a 600 team contact centre specialising in multilingual customer care and hi-tech response work.

Sykes will bring to the Borders its 30-plus years’ experience in delivering high quality contact centre services through its people, processes and technology. With its high focus on people, Sykes has an enviable client retention record of 8.5 years.

“The addition of contact centre services into Galashiels is a logical step in our provision of end-to-end life cycle services to our existing and future clients, and will further complement the pan-European operation which has been in Edinburgh since 1995,” says Senior Director Les Torrance.

In this instance, the company’s new centre will be servicing inquiries from one of Sykes’s major UK retail clients whom Sykes has worked with for six years. According to Senior Director Les Torrance, the contact centre operation in the Borders will bring a fantastic pool of highly skilled employees, delivering high quality services.

“The new contact centre in Galashiels will transform our Netherdale operation into a full service unit featuring both call-taking and fulfilment. It will be drawing on inherently high-quality labour in the Borders, which we believe will markedly improve the perception of call centres in southern Scotland,” adds Mr Torrance.
