Despite one of the wettest summers on record, the sun made a welcome appearance at Fusion’s 2012 family fun day, which took place at the Stadium of Light in Sunderland.

The local employer hosts the event every year and this year was enjoyed by more than 840 attendees.

All employees from Fusion Sunderland are invited to bring up to five guests to the carnival-style event which includes something for everyone. The vast array of activities include: fairground rides, SAFC football skills training, magician, face painting, bouncy castles, pamper tent, balloonist.

Sarah Burns, Head of Site for Fusion Sunderland, said: “Our annual family fun day is a key event in the Fusion calendar. As a company we recognise that it’s our people who deliver results and drive success. The fun day is a well-deserved thank you to our employees for all their hard work and commitment, and also to their families and friends. This year’s event was another great success – we were worried about the recent bad weather, but thankfully the sun made an appearance.”

Sophie Mullaney, Fusion employee, added:” This was my first experience of a Fusion family fun day and I was not disappointed. The whole event is a real treat for employees and their friends and family. From the moment we arrived we were entertained and looked after – the food village was fantastic, we had a choice of hog-roast, fish and chips, noodles or a picnic. My family and friends can’t wait for next year – but I have my sights firmly fixed on the pamper tent!”
